Event: Visit to Westmill
Workshops have been run across the Forest of Dean District exploring what kind of community-owned renewable energy generation projects people might like to see in their local area in the future, and where.
These have included the parishes of Westbury on Severn, Blaisdon, Dymock, and Bromesberrow. Our final workshop will take place in Tidenham parish in July. The project is called “Future Energy Landscapes” and focuses on community-led energy planning, recognising that local people know best what is suitable for their area.
To help understand how a solar farm or a wind turbine can support both communities and wildlife, we have arranged a special FREE event for our District & Parish Councillors, to discover the benefits of community-owned energy and see for ourselves how biodiversity is managed at Westmill Energy, Oxfordshire (near the Wiltshire border). A community-owned wind and solar farm.
District and Parish councillors - we would be delighted if you can join us, book your place here: https://dandelion.events/e/x4lmf
If you are not a councillor, then please do encourage your local councillor to come along.
Westmill is a one hour drive away from Coleford, in Oxfordshire, near the Wiltshire border, not far from Swindon. We are planning a mini-bus to transport our guests (free of charge) from the Main Place in Coleford, and back. Refreshments will also be provided.
There is a deadline for booking - 1st June, so don't delay!
