Forest Showcase Spring Food Festival

Forest Showcase Spring Food Festival

We had a wonderful time, on a beautiful day, at the Forest Showcase Spring Food Festival as part of the "From the Ground Up" section! It was the first time we using our new Event Shelter and big outdoor banner at an event - and it all went very well.

So many great conversations, and lovely to be with other local community groups including the Bream Gardening Society, Dean Forest Beekeepers, Blakeney Hill Growers, Parkend Community Orchard, and Yorkley Village Garden!

There was lots of interest, we signed-up new members, and talked about everything energy related you can think of, ranging from solar on an ice cream business, to a wind turbine on a farm.

We sampled delicious ice-creams. date and ginger cake, coffees, and crepes!

A "thumbs-up" from the team

It was very warm! Ice packs, a cool-bag, and a damp tea-towel, plus a plant sprayer, helped us manage the heat safely, plus lots of water!

PS Now seriously considering getting an inflatable red tentacle.

The week before we were learning new skills, testing out the Event Shelter, and assessing risks, ahead of using it at the Festival. Many thanks to all our team members who helped on both days!
