Thermal Camera Loan Scheme - news!

Forest Community Energy have taken over running the free scheme from the District Council

We are incredibly proud to take the reins of this vital community resource. As energy costs and climate action remain front of mind for everyone in the Forest, keeping this scheme free and accessible is a top priority for us.

All the information you need about the scheme, where to find the cameras, how to borrow them, and how to access advice and support is here on our website. Look out for posters and flyers promoting the scheme, and let us know if you would like some to distribute at your local club or community centre.

The council officially handed over responsibility this week and we caught the moment on camera!

Forest of Dean District residents can borrow the FLIR thermal cameras completely free of charge for one week at a time through the established network of participating Gloucestershire Libraries and local Town and Parish Councils. The cameras are most effective during the colder autumn and winter months when there is at least a 10°C temperature difference between the inside and outside of a building.

If you have used one in your home or community centre, we would love to hear how you got on.
