A Day Out in Dymock

A Day Out in Dymock

We had a fabulous day at Dymock Parish Hall, during the annual Daffodil Weekend event, following up on our recent Future Energy Landscapes workshop. We spoke with many lovely people (both local and from further afield), spreading the Community Energy message!

We had the results from the workshop (maps with potential wind turbine and solar sites) and the aim of widening participation, finding out what people in Dymock and Bromesberrow thought about the outputs from the original workshop, and the general feeling about renewable energy in the local area.

We asked local people to share their input by adding stickers to the maps, and giving the opportunity to complete an online survey. There was also the option to keep in touch about the project and receive the final report by email when it's ready.

Set-up and ready for the day

It was lovely to see some of the workshop participants there, and also to meet people who had been interested but unable to attend. It was a very busy day!

There were also people from further afield; Mitcheldean, Blakeney, and Newent, for example. One couple had come from Birmingham. There was a lot of interest in the new increased support for community energy projects. One example being a wind turbine project in the parish of Chedworth that was abandoned fifteen years ago, due to grid connection issues, but which might now be possible!

Our April meeting is going to be in Redmarley, which is close to Dymock, so we hope that some of the people we met will be abe to come along.
