Event: Empowering Our Councils
We delighted to be running a special FREE evening event for our Town and Parish Councillors and Clerks in the Forest of Dean District to discover the benefits of community-owned energy, how to identify potential projects, and what the first steps are to start things moving. It is on Wednesday 24th June, at the Main Place, Coleford, from 7.00-8.30pm.
As local government reorganisation re-shapes the role of town and parish councils, how can councils respond to the energy crisis and increasing costs, whilst supporting their communities into the future? With opportunities around community asset transfer and increasing local responsibility, this is a key moment to explore what’s possible.
Join us for Empowering our Councils, a free, in-person event focused on sharing practical ideas for managing community assets cleanly and affordably in a time of change.
Book your place here: https://dandelion.events/e/w3iu8
We'll also give an overview of funding options, including the community-energy model, and new opportunities being made available through GB Energy and the Local Power Plan.
Refreshments provided.
Empowering our Councils is funded by South West Net Zero Hub
A partner-event is being held on the same evening in Stroud District by Stroud Area Community Energy Network, supported by Transition Stroud
